On 28 May 2026, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, received a farewell call from H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Thailand, upon the completion of his tenure.

The Director-General underscored the significant potential for expansion of Thailand–Bangladesh cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment. Both sides also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral ties, including the preparation for the 4^th Thailand–Bangladesh Bilateral Consultations (BC) Meeting at SOM level this year, as well as future exchange of high-level visits.

On this occasion, the Director-General expressed appreciation for Ambassador Kazi’s dedication to deepening Thailand-Bangladesh ties throughout his tenure. She also reaffirmed her readiness to work closely with the incoming Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand to continue advancing cooperation between the two countries.
