On 20 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, welcomed H.E. Mr. Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Assistant Minister and Director-General of Asia-Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Thailand, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides discussed ways to promote Thailand-Iran relations in various areas, including political, cultural, academic, and people-to-people relations, as well as activities to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Iran. Both sides also discussed the possibility of holding the 10^th Joint Commission on Economic, Commercial, Industrial, Technical, Agricultural and Scientific Cooperation between the two countries in Thailand.
