On 27 July 2026, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, received a farewell call from H.E. Mrs. Rukhsana Afzaal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand, upon the completion of her tenure.

Both sides welcomed the continued progress in Thailand - Pakistan relations, as the two countries celebrate the 75^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to sustaining and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual potential, including the halal industry, security, education, culture, and labour.

On this occasion, the Permanent Secretary expressed her appreciation to Ambassador Afzaal for her dedication in promoting bilateral cooperation and for Pakistan's support for Thailand in international fora. She also reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to work closely with the incoming Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
