On 7 October 2025, Mr. Kittipod Hongsombud, Director of the Africa Division, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, welcomed Mr. Richard Aladetoyinbo, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, along with the delegation of the Nigerian National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), led by Mr. Theophilus Fashola, Deputy Commandant of NISS, and participants from other African government agencies who take part in the Executive Intelligence Management Course. The delegation is in Thailand during 5 - 12 October 2025 for a study visit on Thailand’s management of non-state actors and their impacts on security, economy, and development.

The Director provided an overview on Thailand–Nigeria relations and exchanged views with the delegation on related topics. On this occasion, the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria and the Deputy Commandant expressed their appreciation for the Department’s arrangement for the delegation’s meetings with other Thai relevant agencies, paving ways forward for potential cooperation in the security sector between Thailand and Nigeria, as well as other African countries.
