On 13 February 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, met with representatives of the Thai Students' Association in Cairo Under The Royal Patronage to discuss the Association’s role and activities in supporting Thai students in Egypt.

This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the Association, which has consistently received financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand for student activities, including skills development, academic and leisure activities. The Director-General commended the strong unity and active engagement of the Thai student community in Egypt and reaffirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo to continue providing full support for the Association’s initiatives.

Education remains one of the key pillars of Thailand-Egypt cooperation and has long served as a strong foundation for close people-to-people ties between the two countries.
