On 14 May 2026, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, met with H.E.Mr. Fuwad Thowfeek, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Thailand at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

Both sides exchanged views on advancing the Thailand-Maldives bilateral relations through high-level visits and bilateral political dialogue at the Director-General level, as well as cooperation on key areas such as trade and investment, essential commodities, tourism, healthcare, development cooperation, and agriculture. The meeting also touched upon the promotion of multilateral cooperation.
