On 5 June 2024, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Bangkok to commemorate the 76^th Anniversary of Independence Day of Israel and the 70^th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Israel. H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, also attended as Chief Guest of the event. Also, on the occasion, the Deputy Director-General presented a bouquet of flowers on behalf of H.E. the Foreign Minister of Thailand to H.E. Mrs. Orna Sagiv, Ambassador of Israel to Thailand.

             In the event, H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and H.E. Mrs. Orna Sagiv, Ambassador of Israel, unveiled a special art installation in memory of the 41 deceased Thai workers who passed away during the conflict in the Middle East.  The artwork was created by Mr. Szack Seksun Toommai, Thai artist, in collaboration with Mr. Sammy Nidam, Israeli artist.
