On 26 February 2026, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Margulan Baimukhan, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Thailand at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

Both sides discussed the preparations for the 1^st Kazakhstan - Thailand Bilateral Political Consultations to be held on 6 March 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan, and ways to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade and investment as well as development cooperation under the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
