On 25 March 2025, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Ms. Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism of the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, co-chaired the 6^th Thailand-Sri Lanka Bilateral Political Consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting aimed to review progress made since the 5^th Bilateral Political Consultations held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in August 2023, as well as the Official Visit to Sri Lanka by H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, former Prime Minister of Thailand in February 2024. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation in many areas such as trade and investment, renewable energy, fisheries, agricultural processing, culture and tourism.

After the meeting, the co-chairpersons presided over the presentation of the awards to the winners of the 70^th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations commemorative logo contest. The first, second, and third place winners received 50,000 Baht, 30,000 Baht, and 15,000 Baht respectively. The logo will be used in commemorative activities organised by both sides throughout the year.
