On 3 February 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, met with Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand and discussed plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Pakistan as well as to follow up on the outcomes of the 3rd Thailand-Pakistan Political Consultations held in Islamabad on 18th Novermber 2025

Both sides agreed to advance the implementation of agreements reached during the 3rd Thailand Pakistan Political Consultations, particularly in the area of economic cooperation. The Ambassador expressed her readiness to facilitate a visit by the Thai private sector to Pakistan to explore opportunities in bilateral trade and investment, as well as to promote cooperation between Thailand and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH), based in Islamabad.
