On 15 September 2026, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Saadia Altaf Qazi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Thailand, upon the latter’s assumption of duty.

The Director-General welcomed Ambassador Qazi to Thailand, and reaffirmed the cordial relations between Thailand and Pakistan, which have continued to develop steadily over the past 75 years. The two sides also exchanged views on ways to further promote bilateral cooperation across all areas, particularly the convening of the Joint Commission (JC) Meeting at the Foreign Minister level within 2026, which would further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
