On 17 August 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Bangkok Arabic Language Center of Krirk University, organised a pre-departure orientation programme for Thai students awarded scholarships by the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco for the 2026 academic year. Held from 17–19 August 2026 at the Nouvo City Hotel in Bangkok, the programme aims to prepare the students for further studies in Morocco by providing guidance on various aspects of life there, including language, education, daily life, and adaptation to Moroccan society. Ms. Tirta Rojrangsee, Director of the Africa Division, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, delivered opening remarks at the event.

The programme forms part of the cooperation between Thailand and Morocco in the areas of education and human resource development. The Government of Morocco has continuously provided scholarships to Thai students for 32 years, offering them opportunities to study and gain firsthand knowledge of the Arabic language, culture and society. The scholarships not only contribute to the development of Thai youth but also play an important role in promoting mutual understanding and strengthening the close bonds between the peoples of the two countries.

On this occasion, the Director of the Africa Division expressed her appreciation to the Government of Morocco for its continued support in providing scholarships to Thai students. She also expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Education, the Bangkok Arabic Language Center of Krirk University, and the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat for their cooperation in the selection and preparation of scholarship recipients, as well as in providing care and support to Thai students throughout their studies in Morocco. Representatives of the aforementioned organisations also attended the opening ceremony.
