On 13 August 2026, H.E. Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Andalib Elias, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Thailand, upon the latter’s assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed convening the 4th Thailand-Bangladesh Bilateral Consultations at the Permanent Secretary level in 2026, with a view to paving the way for high-level visits. They also exchanged views on promoting cooperation in trade and investment, connectivity, tourism, culture and labour, and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely through bilateral and multilateral frameworks on issues of mutual interest.
