On 25 May 2023, the business delegation from Pakistan paid a courtesy call on Ms. Wanalee Lohpechra, Deputy Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, on the occasion of the visit to Thailand, led by the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, during 22 -26 May 2023. The purpose of this visit is to attend THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2023 and meet with the representatives of Thai Chamber of Commerce to explore business opportunities and foster bilateral trade between both sides.

The Deputy Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs welcomed the delegation and underscored the significant role of the private sectors in promoting bilateral relations between Thailand and Pakistan, especially in the areas of trade and investment and people-to-people exchanges. The Deputy Director-General also reiterated the role of Thailand as a gateway to Southeast Asia and invited the private sector of Pakistan to invest in the Economic Economic Corridor (EEC).

In addition, the delegation expressed their interest and readiness to promote closer collaboration through joint venture with the Thai private sectors, particularly in the food and food processing industry and production technology transfer.
